Responsibilities - Handle all aspects of Australian residential conveyancing transactions independently, from contract review to settlement.
- Act as the primary point of contact for expat clients, providing clear, timely updates and expert guidance throughout the property transaction process.
- Draft and review contracts of sale, transfer documents, and settlement statements, ensuring full compliance with Australian property law.
- Conduct title searches, identify encumbrances or restrictions, and ensure accurate property information for smooth settlements.
- Collaborate with mortgage brokers, lenders, agents, and legal professionals to facilitate seamless property transactions.
- Manage settlements through digital conveyancing tools such as PEXA, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Contribute to building the in-house conveyancing function, including shaping workflows, recruiting future team members, and scaling operations nationally.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree or above in relevant field.
- 5 years of experience in Australian residential conveyancing, able to handle matters independently from start to finish.
- Formal conveyancing qualification (preferably East Coast) with a clear path toward national accreditation.
- Strong knowledge of Australian property law, including state-specific regulations (e.g., NSW, VIC, QLD).
- Proficiency with PEXA and other electronic conveyancing platforms.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex legal concepts to clients.
- High level of autonomy, accountability, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple transactions under pressure.
- Desirable: Experience working with expat clients and/or knowledge of cross-border property transactions and tax implications.
