We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Compliance Strategy Officer with 3-4 years of hands-on experience in compliance, preferably within financial services or regulated industries. The successful candidate will play an essential role in driving our compliance framework, conducting thorough risk assessments, establishing and optimizing onboarding processes, overseeing the use of compliance tools (especially Sumsub), and managing ad hoc compliance projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Risk Assessment: Conduct regular and comprehensive risk assessments of business processes, clients, and new products. Identify key compliance risks and devise effective mitigation strategies that ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
- Onboarding Process Management: Design, implement, and continuously improve customer onboarding procedures, ensuring adherence to KYC/EDD, AML, and CTF regulations. Leverage compliance tools such as Sumsub to streamline identity verification and enhance the client onboarding experience.
- Compliance Policies & Strategy: Develop, document, and implement compliance policies, procedures, and practices aligned with industry standards and regulatory changes. Monitor relevant laws and regulations and ensure timely updates to internal processes.
- Compliance Tools & Technology: Utilize platforms such as Sumsub for automated verification, compliance monitoring, case management, and analytics.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with Legal, Product, Operations, and other teams to ensure compliance requirements are met across all business functions. Serve as a compliance resource for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ad Hoc Compliance Projects: Lead and participate in assigned compliance initiatives, such as merchant onboarding, implementation of new policies, sanction screening etc. Coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver timely solutions and recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-4 years of relevant experience in compliance, risk assessment, or similar roles (preferably in crypto. fintech, banking, or financial services).
- In-depth understanding of KYC/AML/CTF regulations and customer onboarding best practices. Practical experience using compliance software and onboarding tools (e.g., Sumsub).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred: Relevant compliance certifications (e.g., CAMS, ICA) are an advantage.
