Our client is a global financial services firm and as a part of their growing Finance team seeking an experienced Tax Accounting professional to join their team in Hong Kong.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Supervise the tax compliance strategy and enforce group tax policies across all regions.
  • Evaluate and oversee the quarterly income tax provisions and deferred tax assessments for consolidated entities and major subsidiaries, ensuring adherence to ASC740 and IFRS, including relevant footnote disclosures.
  • Generate reports on tax management and model effective tax rates (ETR) and cash tax obligations.
  • Coordinate tax audit processes in collaboration with external auditors.
  • Direct tax accounting for acquisitions and other business transactions.
  • Spearhead upcoming technology initiatives related to tax accounting, reporting, compliance, and transfer pricing.
  • Collaborate closely with the transfer pricing team to assess significant intercompany dealings, including financing and support services.
  • Lead or contribute to various special projects and enhancements in processes.

To be eligible for this position, you will require:

  • CPA certification or equivalent qualification.
  • Over a decade of experience in Big 4 public accounting AND in a multinational corporate tax department within a public firm (ideally Financial Institution).
  • Deep expertise in ASC740 and IFRS tax accounting and reporting, with a focus on compliance processes.
  • Demonstrated ability in handling complex international tax issues.
  • Familiarity with implementing technological solutions for tax accounting and compliance.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
