The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of SMARTS surveillance tools and a deep understanding of various financial products.

Key Responsibilities

    • Market Surveillance: Monitor trading activities across multiple asset classes to identify suspicious patterns and potential market abuse.
    • SMARTS Proficiency: Utilize SMARTS surveillance systems to analyze trading data and generate reports on market behaviour and compliance issues.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies regarding market conduct.
    • Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations into identified anomalies and work closely with compliance and legal teams to escalate issues as needed.
    • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management and regulatory authorities on surveillance findings and trends.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with traders, compliance officers, and IT teams to enhance surveillance capabilities and implement best practices.
    • Training: Provide training and support to staff on market surveillance policies, tools, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelors degree in finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CIMA) preferred.
    • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in market surveillance, compliance, or trading within a financial services environment.
    • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of SMARTS surveillance tools and experience with other market surveillance technologies.
    • Financial Products Knowledge: Deep understanding of various financial products, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and foreign exchange.
    • Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and trends.
    • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and effectively.
    • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
