Service Line Overview

KPMG People Services team supports works with both employers and individuals on tax and immigration matters with a particular focus on complex cross border planning and arrangements. We develop tailored strategies and innovative solutions to enable organisations and individual to achieve long-term strategic needs.

We are now seeking high-calibre professionals support the continued growth of our People Services team in Hong Kong, with a particular focus on private clients and high-net wealth individuals. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude bringing a commercial and analytical mind with solid problem solving and advisory skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Have a very strong understanding of tax legislation in Hong Kong/Mainland China and/or other key overseas locations such as the US, UK, Australia or Canada and be able to apply it to various international client matters
  • Work with clients to develop holistic and effective solutions to address their business and personal needs
  • Participate in business development activities to gain new work from prospective and existing clients
  • Use knowledge of relevant non-tax legal, financial and business information
  • Regularly expand knowledge of private client and wealth management trends keeping up-to-date with the latest business and current affairs as it relates to their clients
  • Working knowledge and understanding of immigration schemes/requirements would be advantageous
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring pro-activeness and responsiveness
  • Provide guidance, assign tasks to junior team members and mentor them in client communications while retaining ownership of high-value interactions.
Experience & Background
  • A relevant degree as well as a professional qualification
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in a professional firm.
  • Experience in handling complex cross-border issues concerning individual tax planning
  • Excellent written and spoken English, Cantonese or Mandarin language skills.
  • Strong presentation and client relationship skills
  • Well-organized with ability to meet multiple deadlines and work under pressure
