They are seeking a seasoned Senior Compliance Manager to lead and enhance their compliance framework. This role is critical in ensuring our operations meet regulatory standards while supporting sustainable business growth.
Your new role - Critically evaluate and interpret regulatory rules, guidelines, and consultation papers issued by authorities (e.g., HKMA), ensuring timely, accurate, and strategic implementation across the Bank.
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures in line with HKMA and other regulatory requirements
- Assess and challenge procedural documents submitted by internal stakeholders to uphold high standards of compliance risk management and ensure full regulatory alignment.
- Support the Head of Compliance in reviewing new products or changes to existing offerings, providing expert due diligence and regulatory advice throughout the product lifecycle.
- Design and execute robust compliance reviews and monitoring programs to verify adherence to both internal policies and external regulatory requirements
- Liaise with regulators and internal stakeholders to manage inspections, audits, and reporting
- Lead coordination efforts for offsite HKMA examinations, acting as the primary liaison between regulators and internal teams to ensure seamless execution and full transparency.
Investigate and resolve customer complaints referred by regulators
- Manage and validate regulatory surveys, ensuring all submissions are complete, accurate, and compliant with expectations.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on business operations
- Conduct compliance training and promote a strong compliance culture across the organisation.
What you'll need to succeed - Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, or related discipline.
- Requires around 7-8+ years of relevant compliance experience, preferably from retail banking or virtual banking environments.
- Strong knowledge of Hong Kong banking regulations and industry best practices.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage cross-functional relationships.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CAMS, HKIB) are a plus.
