My client, a prestigious discretionary hedge fund, seeks a dedicated Security Engineer to strengthen their defensive capabilities across distributed infrastructure, endpoint environments, access management, and productivity platforms.
This position centers on executing comprehensive security protocols, optimizing protective measures, analyzing security events, and advancing initiatives that enhance the organization's overall risk mitigation framework.
The Security Operations team oversees implemented protective technologies, deploys innovative security frameworks, and assesses cutting-edge solutions for strategic integration. This specialist will manage continuous security oversight while collaborating extensively with Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, and Development teams to ensure robust, compliant operational environments.
Core Responsibilities:
Surveillance & Response

- Lead continuous security oversight: assess notifications, analyze incidents, and guide response efforts from isolation through remediation and post-event analysis
- Optimize detection algorithms, response procedures, and operational documentation; consistently minimize alert noise and response timeframes
- Resolve user challenges with security platform functionality
Platform & Governance

- Assess and strengthen cloud security frameworks (including access policies, threat detection, compliance monitoring, audit logging, encryption management, application protection)
- Manage mobile device governance for regulatory compliance, data protection, system updates, and standard configurations
- Administer endpoint protection and network security rules; maintain enterprise web security policies and add-ons
- Strengthen cloud productivity platforms and integrations (data loss prevention, conditional access, application permissions,
identity management, multi-factor authentication)

- Execute pilot programs and assessments for new security platform adoption
- Provide Infrastructure Operations assistance as required
Implementation & Optimization

- Deploy innovative security platforms and system connections; create comprehensive documentation and transition materials
- Develop security workflow automation
- Maintain accurate asset tracking, permission auditing, and modification oversight
- Contribute to security assessments, third-party evaluations, and compliance documentation for industry-standard frameworks
Essential Qualifications:

- 2-8 years in cybsersecurity with demonstrated expertise in at least one area: Security Information Management, Device Management, Infrastructure Hardening, or Applied Cloud Protection
- Proven track record in complete solution lifecycle management from evaluation through deployment to retirement
- Flexibility for cross-timezone collaboration when circumstances require
- Strong foundation in system architecture and operational principles
- Cloud experience with either AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Background in security process automation
- Practical experience developing security operational procedures
