Your new role
The AML Associate/AVP plays a critical role in ensuring the bank complies with regulatory standards related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF), and Sanctions programs. This all-rounded role covers transaction monitoring, EDD, reporting, and policy etc.
- Conduct daily transaction monitoring to identify potentially suspicious activity
- Investigate and document alerts generated from AML systems (e.g., suspicious transactions, unusual patterns)
- Perform Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and periodic reviews for high-risk clients
- Prepare Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) for submission to authorities
- Conduct watchlist screening and PEP/sanctions name checks
- Maintain AML records and ensure completeness of compliance documentation
- Assist in developing and refining AML policies, procedures, and control frameworks
- Provide support during internal and external audits and regulatory inspections
- Participate in training initiatives to enhance AML awareness across the bank
- Contribute to the enhancement of system rules and workflows based on emerging risks or regulatory guidance
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or related field.
- Requires 5-10 years of AML experience in Banking, preferably with solid CDD/EDD review experience in Banking.
- A holder of ECF on Compliance or recognised compliance certificate or equivalent is preferred.
- CAMS certification preferred, but not a must.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Chinese.
- Strong attention to detail.
