Our Client is seeking an experienced professional to support the Head of Operational Risk in overseeing the banks operational risk profile and associated risk areas
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and support to management and frontline teams regarding risk identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring, and reporting processes across operational, strategic, and reputational risks.
- Develop, maintain, and update the banks governance framework, policies, protocols, methodologies, and systems related to operational risk and associated risk types.
- Evaluate and challenge the risk controls established by frontline functions to ensure they are robust and effective in managing operational, strategic, and reputational risks
- Conduct regular assurance reviews to verify the consistent and effective implementation of risk controls and mitigation strategies in daily operations.
- Lead and coordinate various initiatives undertaken by the Operational Risk Management Department.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree or higher in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in operational risk management or internal controls within banking
- Professional certification in Operational Risk Management (e.g., ECF CORP) is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of banking processes and local regulatory frameworks relevant to operational risk, including HKMA supervisory requirements (SPM OR-1, OR-2, SA-2).
- Excellent communication and report writing skills in both English and Chinese.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with solid analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
- Effective time management and ability to work independently under pressure.
