Do you have an eye for the news that matters for markets, the skill to interpret what it means for traders and the ability to clearly deliver that information quickly?
We're looking for someone who can translate news into money by converting geopolitics, monetary policy and economics into actionable markets insights. You will broadcast over our audio squawk channel and contribute written data-based analysis across asset classes, collaborating with our team of strategists, as well as the broader newsroom. We will expect you to use your contacts and knowledge to keep your finger on the pulse of what most interests our terminal clients.
Bloomberg News is seeking a macro strategist/squawker to join its Markets Live team in Asia. The position requires a keen grasp of financial markets and their interconnections, the ability to instantly recognize market-moving news, the analytical skills to identify underlying dynamics, experience in writing well under pressure and a clear articulate voice in English.
We'll trust you to: - Exercise excellent news judgment
- Broadcast relevant headlines and insightful market updates over our squawk audio channel
- Produce macro markets analysis for Bloomberg's Markets Live blog with authority and flair in English
- Identify underlying themes and shifts in global markets
- Have a strong work ethic and an ability to operate calmly under pressure
You'll need to have: - At least 5 years of recent experience either as a trader, markets strategist, or working in a financial journalist/analyst role
- Proven experience writing or broadcasting in English about markets via published research material or distributed daily commentary
- Established experience of working within a team in an international company
- Fluency in both spoken and written English
- Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
- Bachelor's degree or degree-equivalent qualifications
