The Role

AVP, AML and Sanctions Compliance, Legal and Compliance

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist the Head of AML Compliance to implement and maintain BOCI Group's AML/CFT Program;
  • Provide compliance advice / recommendations to different business units, including Investment Banking Department (IBD), Equity Sales and Derivatives (ESD), Fixed Incomes (FI), Sales, Trading and Research (STR), Global Commodities (GC), Private Equity (PE), Insurance Services (IS), Trust Services (TS) and overseas offices;
  • Review and approve high risk customer profiles submitted by the Business Control Unit;
  • Identify, investigate and report suspicious activity and transaction, and escalate any material risk relevant Information to Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and submit suspicious transaction reports (STRs) to the Joint Financial Intelligence Unit (JFIU) in a timely manner;
  • Implement the sanctions compliance program;
  • Produce regular and ad-hoc AML/CFT MIS reports or metrics;
  • Run the Compliance Program (Quality Assurance) to ensure customers' CDD/KYC requirements are fulfilled in a satisfactory manner, and to recommend rectification on discrepancies and/or observations identified from sample check;
  • Perform supervisory control of AMLCFT compliance function within the 2^nd LOD;
  • Identify risk issues and propose recommendations / rectifications to senior management for resolution;
  • Participate in AML/CT related projects and support technology initiatives that can improve the process flow and system architecture (AML-EYE);
  • Assist to organize and deliver AML training in relation to internal controls and regulator updates;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on digital transformation projects;
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as assigned.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree holder of Law / Accounting / Finance or other related disciplines;
  • Minimum 8 wears relevant working experiences in CDD/KYC or AML Compliance;
  • Relevant industry qualifications in Anti-Money Laundering (ICA or ACAMS) preferred;
  • Strong knowledge of Hong Kong regulatory regime, especially KYC requirements and standards. Preferably foam investment and corporate banking services aspects;
  • Strong team player who is highly motivated, independent and able to work under pressure and tight timelines;
  • Proven experience leading digital transformation initiatives or experience in change management;
  • Proficiency in data analytics and knowledge of Al applications in compliance is a plus;
  • Proficient in Cantonese, Mandarin and English.
