Responsibilities:
- Lead Market Making Strategy: Develop and execute market-making strategies for dual currency products (HKD/RMB), optimizing liquidity and pricing in alignment with market trends and client needs. Oversee pricing, hedging, and risk management for dual currency products;
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of traders and analysts, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring seamless coordination across Sales & Trading;
- Risk Management: Oversee market, credit, and liquidity risks associated with dual currency trading, ensuring compliance with Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) & SFC regulations and internal risk frameworks;
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with institutional clients, providing tailored solutions for dual currency products and supporting cross-border financial activities;
- Product Innovation: Drive the development of innovative dual currency financial products, including derivatives and structured products, to enhance ICBC Internationals market offerings;
- Market Analysis: Monitor macroeconomic trends, exchange rate fluctuations, and regulatory changes impacting HKD and RMB markets, providing actionable insights to senior management;
- Collaboration: Work closely Treasury, and other teams to align strategies and support initiatives like RMB internationalization and Greater Bay Area connectivity. Work with IT, settlements team to build the necessary system to ensure front to back seamless integration of the DCMM business;
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all trading activities adhere to local and international regulations, including those set by the HKMA and Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; with advanced qualification (MBA, CFA, or equivalent) preferred;
- At least 10 years or above relevant experience in investment bank, brokerage firms or other financial institutions;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in market making, trading, or related roles within global markets, with a focus on dual currency (HKD/RMB) products;
- Proven leadership experience in managing high-performing trading teams in a fast-paced financial environment;
- Deep understanding of Hong Kongs financial markets, including cross-border payment systems and RMB internationalization;
- Strong knowledge of risk management, derivatives, and fixed-income products;
- Familiarity with Hong Kongs regulatory environment and global financial trends;
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills;
- Fluency in English and Mandarin.
