The Role

AVP, Project Manager, Information Technology

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for providing technology solutions to fulfill business department needs, including Private Banking (PB), Global Coverage Centre (GCC), Investment Banking Department (IBD), Legal and Compliance (LCD), Financial Management (FMD), Asset and Liability Management (ALM), Risk Management (RMD), Human Resources (HR), Information Technology (ITD), OPS-Data Team;
  • Responsible for implementing business application systems for business departments, including Head Office systems, in house developed application and externally purchased systems. Responsible for organizing production delivery and go live plan for IT projects. Responsible for project management functions including project initiation, progress control, and project closure;
  • Responsible for managing project throughout its lifecycle, including system planning according to IT architecture, analysis, design, development/purchasing of new systems, testing (functional test, performance test, user acceptance test and security test, etc.), production release and promotion stages;
  • Look after each business department for their major business applications, for example;
    • PB - core banking systems, derivative product trading systems, suitability engine, etc.
    • LCD - AML, transaction monitoring, staff dealing approval workflow systems, etc.
    • HR - employee leave application, performance evaluation, online learning systems, etc.
    • FMD - general ledger accounting, budget management, expense and reimbursement, Hong Kong Monetary Authority reports, financial databases, etc.
    • ALM - treasury systems, etc.
    • RMD - credit risk management, market risk management, operational risk management, risk reporting, etc.
    • OPS-Data Team - customer and account master database systems, product database systems, etc.
    • ITD - workflow/approval system, service request system, data analysis platforms, etc.
  • Collaborate with Technology Risk Management Team to follow up on related work such as Head Office audits, assessments and reports, internal audits, and regulatory requirements;
  • Collaborate with procurement team to on various product and services renewal and the procurement of new systems;
  • Other tasks assigned by Head Office and senior management.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree holder major in Computer Science or related, 7+ years relevant working experience in financial project management;
  • Good time management, project management and organizational skills. Strong analytical thinker;
  • Functional Expertise as Project Manager, including define and follow SDLC, as well as having large scale delivery experience in Front to Back projects;
  • Decision maker and wants to take over responsibility;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional approach when interacting with business;
  • Discuss with user requirements with business analysts and technical requirements with development managers;
  • Vendor management;
  • Conduct procurement management with users, LCD. IT Procurement Team and vendors;
  • Define the project scope, goals and deliverables with end users, business analysts and development manager. Ensures project change management process is followed;
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements with development managers
  • Provides the project plan and updates it as needed (deadlines, milestones, delivery, requested and planned resources etc.);
  • Schedules and manages the project according to the project plan and ensures all relevant project deliveries during all phases;
  • Ensure quality assurance check with development managers;
  • Resolve and minimize project conflicts among all stakeholders.
