The ideal candidate is an independent professional with a strong background in Big 4 auditing and commercial experience, preferably in securities (brokerage), internet, fintech, or virtual assets sectors. You will lead efforts to enhance financial reporting processes and ensure compliance in a rapidly evolving industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project-based finance initiatives, including system transformations to support global scalability and efficiency.
  • Drive the integration and management of overseas accounts following M&A activities, ensuring seamless transitions and compliance.
  • Support licensing applications by preparing financial documentation, reports, and analyses required for regulatory approvals.
  • Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements, regulatory reports, and ad-hoc analyses in line with industry-specific standards.
  • Develop and implement robust internal controls, reconciliation processes, and reporting frameworks for global operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, compliance, and operations, to facilitate expansion projects.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on complex accounting issues related to virtual assets and international transactions.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes in the crypto and fintech space, ensuring proactive adaptations to reporting practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in accounting and reporting functions.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., HKICPA, ACCA, CFA) are highly preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in accounting, auditing, and financial reporting.
  • Proven track record in a Big 4 audit firm, combined with hands-on commercial experience in a corporate setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex, project-based assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in finance system implementations or transformations.
  • Proficiency in advanced accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.

Preferred Skills and Attributes

  • Industry exposure in securities (brokerage), internet, fintech, or virtual assets, with knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., AML/KYC, SFC/HKMA guidelines).
  • Experience in M&A integration, global expansion, or licensing processes in regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with blockchain technology, cryptocurrency accounting, and digital asset reporting.
  • A proactive, results-oriented mindset with a passion for innovation in the crypto space.
