Details of the Division and Team: Deutsche Bank Research is responsible for economic and financial analysis within Deutsche Bank Group and covers asset allocation and all major industry sectors. We analyse relevant trends for the bank in financial markets, the economy and society, highlight risks and opportunities and act as consultant for the bank, its clients and stakeholders. Deutsche Bank Research delivers high-quality, independent analysis and actively promotes public debate on economic, fiscal, labour market and social policy issues.
The individual will sit with the Macro & Thematic Research team. You will be providing insights to asset managers and corporates on geopolitical trends that affect the business world, closely collaborating with our existing macro, fixed income and equity research analysts. This involves on-going authoring and production of written research to promote investment views and marketing of those views to internal and external clients

Your key responsibilities: - Identify and prioritise geopolitical themes primarily affecting APAC, emerging flashpoints, and long-term structural shifts that will drive market movements
- Translate complex regional geopolitical developments into clear, concise, and actionable insights for portfolio managers, analysts, and clients
- Ensure the research agenda is aligned with the broader Thematic & Macro Research strategy and contributes to the firm's overall investment thought leadership
- Oversee the production of timely, insightful, and high-quality research reports, white papers, presentations, and data visualizations that communicate complex regional geopolitical issues in an accessible manner
- Act as a primary point of contact for internal stakeholders seeking regional geopolitical insights and guidance
- Cultivate and maintain a network of leading academics, think tanks, government officials, and industry experts to gain access to cutting-edge insights and diverse perspectives on geopolitical developments
- Participate in internal briefings, client meetings, conferences, and roadshows to present the firm's geopolitical views and build client relationships
Your skills and experience: - The candidate must have a good understanding of regional nuances affecting the geopolitical landscape
- Good written and oral communication skills are essential for conveying complex information effectively
- The ability to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, and external experts
- The geopolitical landscape is constantly evolving, so the candidate must be adaptable and able to adjust the research agenda as needed
- Prior experience in geopolitical risk and the ability to forecast future events
