Training Program The Investment Banking Associate Program begins in the summer with intensive classroom training in Hong Kong. This includes business presentations, practical sessions and the opportunity to exchange ideas and learn from your peers. At the end of training, Associates will be able to understand financial concepts, build a dynamic model and have a strong understanding of the Morgan Stanley culture.
Key Responsibilities Associates hired in Hong Kong are given general offers, then placed into one of the industry groups, regional coverage groups or Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). Associates work on a variety of corporate transactions and have significant responsibility. The work is challenging, and Associates are encouraged to be an integral part of coverage and project teams and dig into financial statements and think creatively. Our lean deal team structure allows Associates to work closely with senior officers on a variety of projects. Associates will attend and be active participants in client meetings.
Your projects may span a wide range of investment banking activities-from mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and initial public offerings (IPOs) to financing a new venture. You might participate in a competitive auction process to divest a business, identify strategic acquisition targets, or organize roadshows for potential investors in an equity offering. The role and responsibilities may include:
- Create, build and analyze advanced financial models with a high degree of accuracy
- Gather company data and operating information on companies across various sectors
- Evaluate market data and perform financial modeling to analyze trends and help value companies
- Assist in the execution of corporate finance and/or M&A transactions
- Conduct financial/strategic business analysis and in-depth industry research
- Contribute to team discussions and participating in client meetings
- Prepare and deliver client presentations in a clear and compelling manner
- Advise and coach junior Analysts to ensure delivery of highest quality work to client
Qualifications and Skills - You must be a Master of Business Administration (MBA) graduate student, graduating between October 2025 - July 2026
- You have strong analytical, numerical skills and technically sound with practical financial modeling skills that put you at ease with financial data
- You are results-driven, perform well under pressure and against tight deadlines
- You are a team player with the ability to manage a wide range of responsibilities
- You are insightful, adaptive, a quick learner, a multi-tasker and possess strong work ethics and a positive attitude
- You have excellent communication skills and are fluent in English
- Business fluency in Mandarin is an advantage
- You articulate complex ideas simply and summarize them effectively
- You are committed to excellence in your work and maintain high professional and ethical standards
