Position Description
The Sales role will be part of FICCs Macro franchise business, responsible for developing his/her own client relationships and fronting product marketing activities to broaden CITIC CLSAs product distribution growth across the Rates and Currency asset classes.
The Sales role will work collaboratively with macro trading desks and product specialists to promote investment structures, tradeable macro ideas and client hedging solutions with the ultimate aim to acquire new trading relationships that are additive to FICCs macro franchise revenues.
The Sales role will directly manage and be responsible for her/his own target list of client relationships for growth involving the relevant senior management of FICC, trading and product specialists and business development resources to ultimately be in a position to monetise these target relationships.
Seniority of the role will be assessed based on the product expertise and the range of client accounts that the candidate has to offer.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Build and agree on a target list of focus macro relationships with Macro Sales Head.
- Devise an account plan for each target relationship which may include but not limited to target personnel for coverage, target products that may be suitable to the clients unique setup, target coverage requirement and target potential revenue.
- Leverage and tap onshore branch resources of CITICS and sales and trading resources of CSI FICC to onboard and monetize relationships.
- Provide training to junior bench on the Macro Sales desk and lead by example in the way to conduct selling of derivatives and macro related fixed income securities and instruments.
Requirements
- Registration with the SFC or equivalent in the conduct of Types 1, 2 & 4 activities.
- Bachelor or above degree in Finance, Business or Management-related discipline.
- At least 6 years of FICC Sales experience with own set of accounts for the Associate Director Role and those with more experience may be consider for the Director Sales role.
- Positive contribution in Sales revenue in macro products at least 3 years in running.
- Strong understanding of FICC products globally especially in Rates and FX asset classes.
- Hands on experience with Rates & FX client flow trading venues, trading agreement setup and product risk disclosure requirements when selling complex macro products.
- Ability to work out with Risk functions to determine the limit on trading exposure required to conduct client trades.
- Strong knowledge on how to engage the various product, trading and support resources in a typical investment bank to acquire new relationships, get pricing for products and risk management approval.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Putonghua and/or Cantonese).
