Key Responsibility
- Design and manage the structure of our IT systems to support collaborations with research centres and partners.
- Set up and maintain Kubernetes clusters for apps and databases, both on-site and in the cloud.
- Improve the CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and security checks.
- Roll out Single Sign-On and system monitoring tools.
- Work with internal and external developers to move apps to Kubernetes, fix issues, and plan smooth transitions.
- Explore new tech to boost efficiency, share ideas with the team, and follow best practices.
- Coordinate with project managers and clinical teams to meet goals and deadlines.
- Help with daily operations, testing new releases, and provide on-site support when needed.
- Provide technical guidance and mentor to junior teammates.
Requirements:
- At least 6 years of experience in backend or application development with a degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (k8s), Helm, and CI/CD tools like GitLab, GitHub, or Jenkins.
- Skilled in deploying applications, managing network and security settings, credential management, and scripting on Linux.
- Familiar with code quality and vulnerability scanning tools.
- Solid experience in designing large-scale IT systems architecture.
- Experience working in mid-to-large organisations, experience of leading a team will be a plus.
- Experience with critical systems in healthcare or clinical environments will be a plus.
- Programming knowledge in Python/Java/NodeJS and testing tools like JMeter, Jest, Selenium, or Semgrep
- Strong knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB), cloud platforms and API gateways.
- Able to work independently and manage time effectively.
