About the Role The Real-Time Pre-Sales Engineer (Technical Solutions Architect) is a senior, client-facing position responsible for delivering innovative real-time market data solutions and managing the pre-sales lifecycle for FactSet's largest clients. This pivotal role leverages FactSet's leading content, analytics, and technology expertise to deliver impactful solutions that address clients' evolving needs in a dynamic and competitive marketplace. As a technology-savvy member of the Sales Engineering team, the Real-Time Pre-Sales Engineer collaborates across the organization to execute strategic opportunities and drive digital transformation.
The role is rooted in fostering collaborative relationships with business and technology stakeholders while communicating with an enterprise perspective and nurturing an enterprise mindset. A successful candidate must deeply understand industry trends and the competitive ecosystem to connect the dots and present comprehensive real-time market data solutions.
What You'll Do - Serve as a client-facing subject matter expert for FactSet's Real-Time and Pricing & Reference Data solutions, advising on enterprise-scale business needs across financial data operations.
- Engage clients with the FactSet Blueprinting process to identify requirements, uncover inefficiencies, and document existing technology ecosystems.
- Contribute to strategic discussions on modern technologies (e.g., APIs, public cloud & mobile platforms), ensuring solutions align with contemporary industry trends.
- Design target operating models and digital transformation roadmaps with client stakeholders to achieve operational, strategic, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) objectives.
- Overlay technical architecture on business functions spanning asset management, sell-side, wealth advisory, and retail.
- Produce comprehensive pre- and post-change documentation (e.g., diagrams, capabilities, integration maps & contractual artifacts) for all stakeholders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary internal teams to drive sales opportunities and build a pipeline of significant, high-impact market data solutions leveraging FactSet's real-time capabilities.
What We're Looking For - 10+ years of experience within financial services or fintech, including at least 5 years in client-facing pre-sales roles.
- Proven senior-level relationship management with both business and technology stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of financial client needs, industry trends, competitor offerings, and market data best practices.
- Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and enterprising spirit - able to manage multiple concurrent client engagements in dynamic environments.
- Hands-on technology experience gained through professional roles
- Proven experience in architecting, implementing, or managing Pricing & Reference Data integrations and workflows for enterprise platforms.
- English and Mandarin Chinese are required, and ability to communicate complex technical and business concepts to diverse global audiences.
- Bachelor Degree of Business Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
- Willingness to Travel.
Technical Expertise - Familiarity with leading market data vendors and solutions (e.g., Bloomberg Data License & B-PIPE, LSEG DataScope & RTDS, ICE Data Services).
- Deep expertise in market data qualities of service (streaming, snap, delayed, conflated, and tick-by-tick feeds).
- Firm grasp of tick history data, security reference data (corporate actions, T&Cs), master data management, and related enterprise data workflows.
- Hands-on experience integrating applications with APIs, data models, and symbology.
- Solid understanding of key market data metrics (e.g., latency, market volumes, message rates), and their operational impact across financial workflows.
- Knowledge of commercial best practices, including data access, licensing, and redistribution fees.
- Ability to operate effectively in international environments and collaborate across FactSet's Sales, Engineering, and Product organizations.
