A leading financial institution is seeking a seasoned Cybersecurity professional to join its team as a Senior Manager or Director. This strategic role is ideal for a candidate with strong first line operational experience in cybersecurity, and ideally with exposure to second line risk oversight. The successful candidate will lead a team responsible for safeguarding the bank's digital assets, ensuring robust cyber defence mechanisms, and driving continuous improvement in security operations.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage the cybersecurity operations team, overseeing threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management.
- Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate closely with IT, risk, and compliance teams to ensure effective governance and risk management.
- Drive maturity in security operations through automation, analytics, and continuous improvement.
- Provide expert guidance on emerging threats, technologies, and best practices.
- Act as a key liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators and auditors.
- Support second line activities such as risk assessments, control testing, and reporting where applicable.
Qualifications: - Proven experience in leading first line cybersecurity operations within a financial institution.
- Strong understanding of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), regulatory requirements, and risk management principles.
- Experience in second line oversight or interaction with risk and compliance functions is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC are preferred.
