Roles and Responsibilities: Case Underwriting (25%) - Complete underwriting assessments within personal authority levels. Achieve service level, productivity, and quality targets.
- Strong adviser communication and relationship building. Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with all stakeholders
Product & Campaign (75%) - Support Product Development by providing underwriting input during the design and development of new insurance products. Access risk profiles and ensure product features align with underwriting guidelines. Collaborate with actuarial, product, and legal teams to ensure regulatory compliance and profitability. Collaborate closely with Product, Distribution, and Marketing teams to provide underwriting insights and solutions during product development.
- Handle Campaign Underwriting by evaluating and approving special underwriting arrangements or concessions for targeted campaigns. Monitor campaign performance and adjust underwriting parameters as needed. Lead and oversee underwriting activities for SME segments, ensuring alignment with product propositions and campaign strategies to support business growth.
- Oversee corporate solutions underwriting, ensuring robust risk assessment and compliance with internal guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Underwrite complex and high-value new business applications, providing guidance and support to junior underwriters to maintain consistency and quality.
- Monitor team productivity, quality, and efficiency through regular audits and performance reviews to ensure service excellence.
- Partner with internal stakeholders such as Underwriting Governance, Claims Governance, and Actuarial Risk to ensure underwriting practices align with the company's risk appetite.
- Conduct training sessions for distribution channels (agencies, brokers, bancassurance) and internal teams to enhance underwriting competency and service delivery.
Minimum Job Requirements: - Possess a degree qualification and having professional qualification; LOMA, ALU, ALUCA or CII will be desirable.
- 8-10 years' experience in life insurance.
- Strong problem solving and communications skills.
- Good communication skills in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications and AI tools.
- Coursework in insurance principles, risk assessment, and financial analysis is highly beneficial.
