Your new role

  • Lead and manage the Business Compliance team, providing strategic direction, coaching, and performance oversight.
  • Spearhead the strategic development and execution of compliance, operational risk, and anti-money laundering (AML) initiatives, ensuring robust implementation across corporate banking operations. This includes oversight of client due diligence processes, investigation of suspicious transactions, fraud risk mitigation protocols, and preparation of periodic reports for senior leadership.
  • Design and implement robust compliance frameworks aligned with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Serve as a senior advisor to business units on compliance risks, regulatory developments, and emerging issues.
    • Lead internal reporting and external regulatory communications related to AML and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) matters, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and timely disclosure.
  • Oversee compliance reviews, risk assessments, and internal audits across business lines.
    • Foster cross-functional collaboration with corporate bankers, compliance teams, and AML specialists to address complex operational challenges and deliver pragmatic, risk-sensitive solutions throughout the business workflow.
  • Represent the bank in regulatory engagements and industry forums.
  • Drive continuous improvement in compliance processes, systems, and training programs.
  • Collaborate with senior management to support new product launches and strategic initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Law, Finance, Business, or related disciplines
  • At least 10-15 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or audit within banking or financial services
  • Proven leadership experience managing mid-sized teams and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of Hong Kong's regulatory landscape (HKMA, SFC, etc.)
  • Strong strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluency in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin)
