Who we are looking for State Street's electronic foreign exchange offering is a core component of our product range, making markets directly with counterparts, on exchanges and e-trading venues around the globe. Since inception we have sustained a considerable growth trajectory, becoming a significant player in this space by expanding our market making, algorithmic and benchmark execution capabilities.
We are seeking an intern level candidate with a solid background in programming and maths. This is an excellent opportunity to learn how to work in a front office electronic trading role.
Why this role is important to us The team you will be joining is a part of the eFX team, State Street Global Markets. State Street's eFX business is a global team providing electronic fully automated trading facilities for clients 24 hours a day 5 days a week, typically transacting billions of dollars of foreign exchange currency daily. We employ cutting-edge quantitative and algorithmic trading techniques, as well as the latest technology to engage in high frequency trading and analysis. Development and enhancement of our algorithms, analytics and technology are crucial to our success in this highly competitive field, not only does it allow us to save execution costs, but also helps to make better informed decisions.
What you will be responsible for As Intern in our eFX APAC team, you will help enhance our pricing and trading strategies by analyzing price, order and execution data that drives the decision making process.

- Experience with a data analysis & modelling language. (e.g., Java, Python, etc.)
- Desire to work within a collaborative, team-driven environment.
- Strong communicator: be comfortable explaining results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Education & Preferred Qualifications: - Having excellent grades in a STEM degree e.g. Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, or related fields from a Asia top 20 university.
- Eligibility to work in Hong Kong, six-month commitment.
