The Banker is a senior-level position responsible for ensuring efficient and optimal use of capital in the Asia region, liaising with NAM/LATAM, EMEA Capital Management to ensure globally consistent practices. The Banker will also work closely with Bankers, Risk and Product partners across Asia, in order to meet regional goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and active participation in global projects for Capital Management (e.g. Banking Balance Sheet Forum, Red Zone, LPM Product, RWA/GAAP monitoring)
  • Partner with Banking partners to execute episodic transactions and drive client planning by delivering product-agnostic solutions, client access, and effective capital allocation
  • Approve / coordinate capital approval.
  • Partner with Risk to ensure strong first line of defence
  • Report periodically on capital and returns metrics to regional senior management
  • Navigate strong working relationships with internal and external partners
  • Provide solutions tailored to clients' needs and act as a content provider on industry and market trends
  • Recruit and develop diverse talent for the Corporate Bank and serve as a mentor to junior bankers
  • Help develop team members' coverage & credit skills
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency


Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience / Master's degree
  • Demonstrated collaboration with multiple corporate banking stakeholders including coverage teams, risk and products
  • Comprehensive knowledge of corporate banking business including related products, pertinent regulations and the lending and credit approval process
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, negotiation, presentation skills, client relationship building, analytical and credit skills
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Experience in originating, structuring, and executing transactions and financings
  • Experience with large, global corporate clients, capital markets products, derivatives, credit, cash management, trade, finance and securities products
  • Experience in recruiting and managing diverse teams with commitment to talent development and ability to manage and work across a diverse and multi-country matrix structure


Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • A Senior Credit Officer or on a path to becoming a Senior Credit Officer. Strong credit skills, credit background and knowledge of Citi's credit policies
  • Strong risk, control, and capital management skills
  • Experience in client coverage helpful
  • Ability to multitask
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
