Key Responsibilities
- Lead actuarial projects from inception to completion, ensuring high-quality deliverables and alignment with client objectives.
- Develop and implement actuarial solutions, including modeling frameworks, to address client needs in life insurance, risk management, and strategic advisory.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external partners, and clients to provide expert advice and foster strong relationships.
- Conduct in-depth technical actuarial work, such as valuation, pricing, reserving, and risk assessment.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, providing insights and guidance on actuarial best practices and industry trends.
- Create compelling proposals, client pitches, and presentations to secure new business opportunities.
- Enhance actuarial intellectual capital by contributing to developing tools, methodologies, and modeling frameworks.
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes and market dynamics in the Hong Kong and APAC life insurance sectors to inform strategic decisions.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Fully qualified actuary (e.g., FSA, FIA, or equivalent from a recognised actuarial body).
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in actuarial roles, with a strong emphasis on consulting within the insurance or reinsurance industry.
- Proven expertise in life insurance, risk management, and strategic advisory services.
- Deep understanding of actuarial principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Strong technical skills in actuarial modelling software (e.g., Prophet, MoSes, or similar) and programming languages commonly used in actuarial work (e.g., R, Python, VBA).
- In-depth knowledge of the Hong Kong and APAC life insurance markets, including regulatory environments and emerging trends.
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
