This is a key role for our product launch engine. The role will be responsible for the end-to-end setup and launch of a diverse range of fund products, with expertise in the Hong Kong and cross-border China markets. The role requires a blend of deep technical product knowledge, strong project management skills, and an extensive network of legal and financial partners. This role reports to the Head of Products & Marketing, working alongside sales, distribution and portfolio management team to navigate direction of products and cater needs of different client classes, and through rolling out investment products to drive the companys success in AUM growth.
Key Responsibilities
· End-to-End Product Launch : Lead the full process for the setup and launch of new investment products. Develop detailed product profiles included products positioning, investment risk/return profile, liquidity, fee structure, asset classes and operational requirements etc.
· Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Act as the primary liaison and project manager, coordinating all external parties including law firms, trustees, custodians, regulators, and other financial institutions to ensure seamless product setup.
· Platform & Process Management: Have a thorough understanding of our internal product platform and processes. Ensure all launches adhere to internal compliance, risk, and operational requirements.
· Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Sales, Marketing, Legal, Compliance, and Operations teams to align product features with market demand and ensure a successful go-to-market strategy.
· Industry Intelligence: Maintain an up-to-date understanding of regulatory changes, market trends, and competitor product offerings in the region. Gather and synthesize feedback from the distribution network and clients regarding product needs and provide actionable insights to the team, inform the strategy for enhancement and for new product launches.
· Provide Sales & Distribution supports: Deliver product training and knowledge-sharing to the internal sales and distribution team to enhance sales effectiveness. Prepare to attend key client meetings, providing technical depth and compelling presentations to sales pitches and assist in responding to DDQs.
Requirements
· Degree in Finance Engineering, Economics or a related field. A relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g., CFA, FRM) would be highly advantageous.
· A minimum of 5 years of hands-on, direct experience in setting up and launching fund products within the Hong Kong market.
· Proven track record of having personally managed the full lifecycle of a product launch and successfully launched multiple fund products from inception to completion, and from structuring, documentation, legal review, and to regulatory approvals.
· Expertise of local regulatory framework and practical requirements for launching funds via seasonal, regional investment channels under the latest policies such as cross border fund scheme (e.g. Mutual Recognition of funds) and fund products e.g. mutual funds, money market fund, FOF, ETF, digital solutions and any seasonal products.
· Strong understanding of different investment product structures and their associated operational and legal considerations.
· Excellent project management, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to translate complex investment concepts for diverse audiences.
· An established network of contacts with top-tier law firms, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies relevant to fund launches in Hong Kong.
· A proactive, "get-it-done" attitude with exceptional problem-solving skills.
