Overview: Our client, a leading foreign corporate bank with a strong footprint across Asia, is seeking a seasoned Vice President, Credit Risk to join its Greater China Credit Review team. This strategic role will focus on credit risk oversight and portfolio review for corporate clients across Hong Kong and Mainland China, ensuring robust risk governance and alignment with global standards.
Key Responsibilities: - Conduct independent credit reviews of corporate lending portfolios across Greater China, with a focus on large local corporates, SOEs, and cross-border transactions.
- Assess credit quality, underwriting standards, and risk rating accuracy, providing challenge and feedback to front office and credit approvers.
- Identify emerging risks and trends across sectors and geographies, contributing to regional and global risk reporting.
- Collaborate with relationship managers, credit approvers, and risk control teams to ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in thematic reviews and deep dives into high-risk sectors or counterparties.
- Support internal audit and regulatory inquiries related to credit risk governance.
Requirements: - Minimum 10 years of experience in corporate credit risk, credit review, or credit approval within international banking.
- Strong knowledge of Greater China corporate landscape, including regulatory environment and market dynamics.
- Proven ability to assess complex credit structures and financials across industries.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin; Cantonese is a plus.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to challenge constructively.
