Job Summary: HKEX is seeking a dynamic and strategic Editor and Content Writer to join our Marketing team. The role will spearhead the development, management and creation of compelling content to support HKEX's retail investor strategy. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the Vice President will oversee the creation of educational materials, content, newsletters, videos and other assets tailored to engage and inform retail investors about financial products such as cash equities, futures and options. This role requires a blend of storytelling, financial expertise, and strategic vision to demystify complex financial concepts and drive engagement with retail audiences. The successful candidate will lead initiatives that enhance brand visibility, foster trust and empower investors to make informed decisions.
Job Duties: - Lead the end-to-end creation, implementation and launch of the retail investor academy, a content hub designed as a one-stop educational platform.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy to educate and engage retail investors, focusing on financial products such as stocks, ETFs, structured products and futures and options.
- Create and maintain editorial calendars to ensure timely delivery of content across multiple channels.
- Oversee the content pipeline, ensuring a consistent flow of high-quality, platform specific content that drives engagement.
- Write and produce a variety of content, including educational articles, newsletters, video scripts and infographics.
- Oversee the editing process to ensure all content meets HKEX standards for clarity, accuracy and brand consistency.
- Manage relationships with external writers, agencies and freelancers to supplement in-house content production. Ensure outsourced content adheres to HKEX standards and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, compliance, and corporate communications, to align content with business goals and regulatory guidelines.
- Implement SEO best practices to maximise visibility and reach of HKEX's content. Conduct keyword search and optimise content to improve organic search rankings and drive traffic to HKEX's platforms.
- Monitor and analyse content performance using analytical tools. Use the data to refine strategies, optimise engagement and report on KPIs.
Required Qualifications and Skills: To excel in this role, candidates must possess a strong blend of financial acumen, creative expertise and leadership capabilities. The following qualifications and skills are essential:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing, finance or related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in content creation and editing, with at least 5 years focused on financial markets or investment-related content.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, particularly cash equities, futures, options and derivatives. Familiarity with retail investor behavior and needs in the financial sector is a plus.
- Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and talent for crafting compelling narratives. Ability to adapt tone and style for diverse audiences and platforms.
- Proficiency with statistical packages, Bloomberg, Reuters, etc.
- Familiarity with content management systems, SEO tools, analytical platforms is a plus.
- Language: Excellent written proficiency in traditional and simplified Chinese. Strong command in English is a plus for global content production.
