We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a
Cost Analyst, Wealth and Personal Banking. Principal Responsibilities The role will:
- Develop, analyse and interpret financial information to support decision-making.
- Partner with onshore teams to perform variance analysis against budgets / forecasts / prior periods to identify discrepancies and evaluate impacts, ensuring alignment with local regulatory requirements and business priorities.
- Support the budget setting and performance tracking based on strong knowledge of the evolving local market context (customer, competitors, distribution and product landscape). Review monthly and quarterly forecast and prepare presentation decks for management.
- Develop high level models to evaluate the financial impact of strategic investments (tactics, objective, return on investments) and new product launches, basing on local market knowledge.
- Assist in reviewing the investment proposals and provide financial support of business case.
- Collaborate with onshore business teams to understand their expenses and come up with cost optimisation and efficiency initiatives.
- Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify key levers that drive growth and efficiency with actionable insights.
- Provide insights, leveraging on market and economic trends and competitive intelligence, to suggest growth and optimisation strategies for channel, customer and product.
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure the financial model results are regularly reviewed and update. Review system procedures to ensure effective internal control and governance are in place for quality, consistent and timely reporting.
- Ensure effective allocation of resources (including funding to support balance sheet growth, and investment budgets against strategic priorities) to optimise returns for the Bank and shareholders.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and provide financial support to to ensure effective communication of financial information and facilitate business decision making. Close engagement with the finance community at regional and global levels. Support strategic implementation of finance change initiatives.
Qualifications - Analytical, strategy-minded and enjoy working on complicated issues and scenarios
- Experience of developing and using financial models, leveraging large data sets and digital tools.
- Proactive, ability to connect the dot, high drive and can-do attitude. Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills with a proven ability to engage effectively and confidently with stakeholders
- Knowledge of financial services, particularly on retail banking, private banking, asset management and/or insurance would all be advantageous.
- Experience working across multi-disciplinary and multi-culturally diverse work environments with strong organisational, time management, planning and execution skills.
