Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing Data center facilities design and implementation including electrical power, data center and on-site IT facility spaces, server rack requirements and network cabling
- Provide site assessments against the organization's requirements of collocation communication rooms and data centers, legacy facility upgrades, and general facility endeavors
- Perform risk analysis and availability calculations for vendor owned and operated collocation data centers
- Continually refine and adapt DC and communications room requirements to meet our business needs
- Perform root-cause failure analysis associated with equipment failures
- Work with local agencies across all Citc Securities Group business locations having jurisdiction to ensure compliance with relevant requirements and building codes
- Work with local utility companies across all Citc Securities Group business locations to understand and coordinate site utility requirements
- Work with commissioning teams to properly test and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical/mechanical/fire suppression systems
- Support of Operations including utilization, efficiency, and fail-over analysis on critical systems
- Interface with internal IT design teams, network teams, server hardware teams, application teams to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered
- Travel to Data Center sites across all Citc Securities Group locations as required
Requirements
- Bachelor/Masters degree in mechanical/ electrical engineering, Data Center Management or relevant discipline
- Certified Data Center Design Professional (CDCDP)
- 10-15 years of direct experience with the construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical data centers
- Including 5+ years of experience in industrial or commercial field engineering in Mission Critical facilities.
- Excellent understanding of both mechanical and electrical equipment/design specific to data centers
- Understanding of international code requirements specific to data center design and operations
- Proficient reading and interpreting of electrical and mechanical one-line drawings
- Experience with electrical system protection and coordination schemes.
- Ability to develop solutions and execute plans on complex projects.
- Experience in designing, commissioning, and troubleshooting power distribution and cooling systems in Data Center or large commercial applications including but not limited to uninterruptible power sources, diesel generators, electrical switch gear, power distribution units, variable frequency drives, automatic/static transfer switches, chillers (air-cooled and water-cooled), pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, CRACs, CRAHs, air economizers.
- Attention to details, problem-solving skills, maintain high quality standards
- Think out-of-the-box for innovative solutions to reduce costs while maintaining quality and reliability
- Excellent Communication skills in English and Cantonese, Mandarin will be considered an advantage.
