Position Objectives

The Senior Manager - Data Business Analysis will play a pivotal role in leading the analysis, mapping, and delivery of data-driven solutions within the finance domain. Working across business and technical teams, this role will focus on ensuring that data is effectively managed, integrated, and delivered to meet the organization's evolving needs. The Senior Manager will guide large-scale data initiatives, oversee end-to-end business analysis, and ensure that data solutions align with business goals and governance standards.



Key Responsibilities



Strategic Data Analysis & Business Alignment

  • Lead the end-to-end analysis of complex data transformation projects, ensuring alignment between business needs and data solutions.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders across finance, FP&A, IT, and other business units to understand, document, and prioritize data requirements.
  • Serve as a key advisor to the business, translating strategic objectives into actionable data initiatives that enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.


Requirements Gathering & Documentation

  • Oversee the gathering and analysis of business requirements for data initiatives, including data lake implementation, data migration, and reporting enhancements.
  • Ensure the creation of clear and comprehensive documentation, such as BRDs, process flows, data mappings, and governance frameworks.
  • Lead workshops with stakeholders to identify inefficiencies in current processes and recommend data-driven improvements.


Data Lifecycle Management

  • Analyze current data sources, structures, and flows to identify gaps, inefficiencies, or risks in the data lifecycle.
  • Define data sourcing, extraction, and mapping requirements to ensure seamless integration into the data lake architecture.
  • Oversee the decommissioning of legacy systems, ensuring data integrity and minimal business disruption during migration.


Data Governance & Quality

  • Establish and enforce data governance principles, ownership models, and accountability frameworks across the organization.
  • Define data quality standards, implement validation processes, and address any issues related to data accuracy or reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements for data management and reporting.


Testing & Validation

  • Lead testing and validation efforts, including data ingestion accuracy, transformation logic, and reporting outputs, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Oversee the development of test cases and facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate solutions before deployment.


Stakeholder Collaboration & Reporting

  • Act as the primary liaison between business and technical teams, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership, including insights on progress, risks, and decisions required to move forward.
  • Support stakeholders in using data insights effectively by delivering actionable recommendations and reports.


Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage and mentor a team of business analysts, ensuring they are equipped to deliver high-quality outputs aligned with organizational goals.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement in data analysis practices.


Candidate Profile



Preferred Qualifications

  • Big 4 consulting experience at Manager or Senior Manager grade, looking to transition to an in-house leadership role, would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with working across diverse geographies (APAC, Europe, etc.) and cultural environments


Experience & Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in business analysis, data transformation, or data management, with at least 3+ years in a management role.
  • Experience in delivering large-scale data transformation projects, ideally within multinational or global organizations.
  • Proven expertise in preparing and managing BRDs and other documentation in both Agile and Waterfall environments.
  • Strong understanding of insurance operations and the finance domain is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing data governance frameworks, control models, and scalable solutions.
  • Experience working with external providers and internal stakeholders to ensure proper scoping, alignment, and delivery of data-related initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
