My client is seeking an experienced audit professional to join their Treasury Audit team as a Deputy Team Head. This leadership role is based in Hong Kong and offers a unique opportunity to provide independent assurance across trading, treasury, and capital markets operations in one of Asia's most dynamic financial hubs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute audits covering front-to-back processes in Global Markets and Treasury, including trading desks, liquidity management, balance sheet risk, and treasury operations.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management frameworks, and governance processes across product lines such as FX, rates, derivatives, and structured products.
- Deliver clear, concise, and impactful audit reports to senior stakeholders, highlighting key risks and actionable recommendations.
- Stay abreast of regulatory developments from HKMA and other global regulators, ensuring audit coverage remains relevant and compliant.
- Collaborate with data analytics and audit innovation teams to enhance audit execution and insights.
- Build strong relationships with business leaders, risk and compliance teams, and external auditors.
Requirements:
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in internal audit, risk management, or front-office roles within banking or financial services, preferably with exposure to Hong Kong and regional markets.
- Strong understanding of treasury and global markets products, including their associated risks and control environments.
- Professional qualifications such as CPA, CIA, CFA, or FRM are highly preferred.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and report-writing skills.
- Proven ability to lead complex audits and manage cross-functional teams.
