We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Digital Platform Governance and Oversight Lead.

Principal Responsibilities

In this role you will
  • Govern the Digital Platforms Portfolio to enable the smooth delivery of the entire portfolio - this includes leading and facilitating key forums, and ensuring the timely and accurate escalation of L1 and L2 capability change requests. Key functional governance forums include the Digital Platforms Tier 1 Delivery Forum, and other functional governance
  • Provide strategic oversight, supporting the leadership team across all change and risk governance matters, to ensure Digital Platforms delivery is fully compliant with HSBC Change and Risk Policy Frameworks
  • Provide functional oversight and business management across the Digital Platforms organisation to ensure the business is operating effectively. This will including managing the FRP within the allocated budget, tracking actuals/LEs/variance and providing accurate MI for leadership to make business decisions, and handling all matters with discretion and confidentiality
  • Ensure the ongoing operational excellence of the Digital Platforms governance structure, this will include facilitation of key forums, with quality/timely material preparation. Forums will include the Steering Committees, Senior Executives Forum, Exco Sponsor and CEO Update Meetings
  • Facilitate programme & Value Stream level reporting - this is expected to include executive level reporting to the programme sponsor, key business stakeholders and other bodies / forums within the Group
  • Lead a team of on and offshore transformation resources to ensure the central PMO is able to fulfil its mandate in driving change discipline on the programme
  • Oversee the central PMO capability and manage programme level resourcing, ensuring that an accurate live view of programme level roles & vacancies is available. Support delivery teams in ensuring vacancies are tracked and also provide support to ensure recruitment progresses in line with plan to ensure vacancies are filled on a timely basis
  • Oversee the central PMO capability to manage programme level financials, working in close partnership with the ensuring that up-to-date financials and cost tracking is maintained and then preparing executive level updates on positions
  • Devise programme plans and make delivery related interventions which may include re-planning, re-prioritization and facilitate discussions to resolve material blockers to delivery as they arise
  • Manage programme & Value Stream level communications to ensure stakeholder groups are aware of key developments / decisions.
  • Establishing Change controls: To ensure deliveries are in line with HSBC's risk appetite and change standards. The role-holder will be expected to establish effective controls, procedures and quality assurance processes; including driving the adoption of HSBC change standards and working in alignment with HSBC project methodology at all times
  • Stakeholder management. Digital Platforms scope spans multiple geographies and impacts multiple areas of the WPB business. The role-holder will be expected to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications - External

To be successful you will need

  • Minimum 10+ years' experience in similar roles in a Digital Environment with experience of large-scale, complex change programmes, within the financial services industry
  • Experience in a global or regional roles, with proven experience in working in a cross functional matrix environment with market and global teams
  • Excellent problem solving and influencing skills. Previous management consulting experience is highly desired, with core consulting skills in story boarding, project leadership, and independently formulating points of views / recommendations a definite advantage
  • Discretion and ability to handle sensitive matters with confidentiality
  • Excellent track record in managing complex change, with previous experience in Technology related change
  • Broad experience of major programme management techniques
  • Sound understanding of the HSBC business, network, customer segments, products offered and competitive market
  • Detailed knowledge of how the organization fits together and the ability to mobilize established networks to get things done
  • Excellent understanding of the bank's risk framework and experience of working with second line of defence: legal, compliance, financial crime (AML & sanctions), fraud, risk
  • Very strong communication skills - both in verbal and written form - with the ability to write executive level reports and compile high-quality presentation packs for C-suite level consumption.
  • Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills
  • Previous experience in managing a team and leading a team towards a collective outcome
  • Demonstrable resilience and persistence - a 'can-do' attitude
  • Knowledge of tooling such as Confluence and Jira
  • Respectful of different cultures, working with colleagues from across the globe
