Overview
Our client is a leading global insurance firm looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join their expert team in Financial Lines underwriting.
This role is also open to candidates from financial services, banking and accounting backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, analyze, and make decisions on risks within the Financial Lines sector.
- Build and maintain relationships with producers to foster targeted business submissions, acquire necessary underwriting details, and ensure excellent service delivery.
- Prepare clear, concise underwriting rationales and documentation.
- Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with brokers and clients while maintaining underwriting discipline.
- Manage a renewal and new business pipeline; prioritize submissions and meet service-level timelines.
- Maintain accurate data entry, file integrity, and reporting in underwriting systems.
- Represent the team in broker meetings, client presentations, and market events with a professional, polished demeanor.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging risks to inform underwriting strategy.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide constructive feedback on any challenges faced.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of underwriting experience; or minimum 3-4 years of experience in the financial services industry.
- Familiarity with Property & Casualty is a plus.
- Self-driven, independent, and possess strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese.
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other relevant software.
