We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as
Director, Client Insights Analytics. The Client & Banking Analytics (CBA) team within CIB transforms data with strategic analytics, driving insight, innovation, and commercial performance across HSBC. As the business owner of Omnia and CME, CBA is instrumental in driving their strategic development to simplify data analytics, enhance business intelligence, and ultimately drive client and shareholder excellence. We deliver data-driven insights to optimize investment across clients, products, channels, and resources, and to enhance pricing. Through disciplined governance, consistent methodology, and fact-based analysis (including client peer benchmarking, wallet sizing, and customer feedback), CBA fosters business optimization, strengthens CIB partnerships, and provides critical insights for shaping CIB's commercial strategy.
The Role: As Director and Head of the Client Insights Analytics pillar, you are a pivotal leader within the Client & Banking Analytics team, defining and executing a comprehensive strategy to deepen understanding of the client journey, competitive landscape, and client needs. You will spearhead the integration of diverse internal and external data - from internal HSBC client data and feedback (Voice of the Client, NPS) to market intelligence from providers like Coalition Greenwich and Dealogic. This role demands a strategic thinker with a client-focused mindset, a strong command of corporate and institutional banking concepts, and a deep awareness of the market data landscape. A crucial aspect will be fostering a collaborative community across CIB's insights and analytics functions to drive synergies and eliminate duplication. You will engage closely with CIB leadership, frontline bankers, product sales, and service teams to deliver actionable, data-driven insights that measure customer value, improve client relationships and returns, thereby shaping CIB's commercial strategy.
Key Responsibilities: - Strategic Client Insights & Journey Analytics: Define and lead the strategy for generating commercially oriented insights throughout the client journey. This includes assessing the competitive landscape, identifying client opportunities and needs, and leveraging client feedback (Voice of the Client, NPS, surveys) to analyze wallet share and measure customer value.
  - External Data Strategy & Management: Oversee the strategic identification, evaluation, and management of external market data (e.g., Coalition Greenwich, Dealogic), ensuring optimal value and compliance.
  - Data Integration & Insight Generation: Lead initiatives to seamlessly integrate internal client data (e.g., from CME, Omnia) with external market data and client feedback. Drive the creation of holistic, commercially-oriented insights that leverage the full spectrum of available information.
  - Senior Stakeholder Engagement & Influence: Foster deep, strategic collaboration with CIB leadership, frontline bankers (GRBs and RMs), product sales, and service teams. Ensure alignment and effective utilization of Client Insights Analytics to drive business optimization and strengthen client relationships.
  - Cross-CIB Analytics Community & Synergy: Establish and lead a community of practice across CIB's various analytics and insights functions. Drive initiatives to identify synergies, remove duplication, foster best practices, and ensure the delivery of complementary analytics that support the strategic goals of CIB, CBA, and other contributing teams.
  - Competitive Landscape & Market Intelligence: Oversee the continuous assessment of CIB's competitive positioning, market trends, and emerging client needs, translating these into strategic recommendations for CIB's commercial strategy.
  - Lead & Develop Talent: Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the Client Insights Analytics pillar, guiding and developing analytics professionals to achieve strategic goals and foster a high-performing, innovative team.

Skills & Experience: - Client Insights Strategic Insight: Proven ability to define strategy and translate complex data from diverse internal and external sources into actionable, client-centric insights and innovative solutions that drive tangible business outcomes and inform sophisticated performance reporting.
  - Industry Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of CIB business models, client lifecycle, frontline operations, and CIB's competitive landscape, including key performance indicators and revenue drivers.
  - Market Data Management Expertise: Deep awareness and knowledge of the market data landscape pertinent to corporate and institutional banking. Proven experience in evaluating, sourcing, and managing external market data, ensuring effective utilization and compliance.
  - Technical Expertise:
  - Mastery in leveraging and integrating data from CIB-specific platforms (Omnia, CME), client feedback platforms (Voice of the Client, NPS tools), and external market data sources.
  - Expertise with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for impactful dashboards and reports. Proficiency in SQL for data querying and extraction is preferred but not required.
  - Ability to leverage advanced analytics, data platforms, and emerging technologies (e.g., Generative AI) for competitive advantage in client insights.
  - Influential Communication: Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and senior stakeholder management skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate, and drive consensus across diverse groups, including CIB leadership, frontline teams, and external vendors.
  - Strategic Execution & Innovation: A strategic mindset and proven track record of defining and leading business optimization, innovation, and delivering significant results in dynamic environments, including managing complex, cross-functional projects.
  - Global Team Leadership: Experience in leading, mentoring, and developing a small, global team fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment, and efficiently leveraging shared resources.
  - Inclusive Perspective: Demonstrated openness to diverse viewpoints, cultivating an inclusive environment that values varied backgrounds for enhanced strategic thinking and problem-solving.

Qualifications - Experience in a leadership role within data analytics, client insights, market intelligence, or business development, specifically within corporate, institutional, investment, or transaction banking.
  - A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline is preferred.
  - Mastery of financial concepts, including credit risk, revenue drivers, capital allocation, and return metrics (e.g., RWA, RoRWA, RoTE).
