We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as the
Global Head of Distribution Risk and Conduct. Role purpose Head of Distribution Risk and Conduct is a strategic role responsible for establishing and overseeing a robust governance framework and adhere to the highest standards of ethical conduct across all global insurance distribution channels to cover insurance distribution and customer management. This position ensures that distribution and customer management activities align with regulatory standards, internal policies, and HSBC's commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
This position will drive FIM development concerning insurance distribution and customer management activities, and responsible to develop a fit-for-purpose framework and allow flexibility with principles aligned. This includes the incentive framework (rewards & recognition), to drive appropriate measurements, scorecards and KPIs. To establish and oversee a globally consistent rewards and recognition framework for insurance, including LTE for both internal and insurance-led channels.
Governance and Committee Memberships The role holder will manage the Global Insurance Distribution Committee (GIDC) and Global customer Forum (GCF) as the secretary.
The role holder will participate and support local Distribution Forum/ Customer Committees when appropriate, and provide guidance where appropriate
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities - Develop and implement robust governance and conduct frameworks for insurance distribution channels to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Lead the establishment of policies, procedures, and controls to manage and mitigate risks associated with insurance distribution risk, incentive (rewards/ recognition) and customer experience (CX1.5 framework) customer acquisition and embedding insurance activities.
- Collaborate with global internal stakeholders, including Compliance, Risk, and Legal departments, to ensure cohesive governance strategies and consistent application of governance practices and standards across all markets.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of governance frameworks, making recommendations for enhancements and ensuring continuous improvement.
- Create governance and consistency across the customer satisfaction framework in Global insurance (e.g. NPS)
- Serve as a key liaison with 2LOD, ensuring compliance with all internal policy and requirements related to insurance distribution and customer management activities.
- Provide leadership and guidance to local governance teams, fostering a culture of risk awareness, compliance, and ethical conduct.
- Create and maintain distribution and customer performance dashboards, prepare and present detailed reports to senior management and relevant committees on governance activities, risk assessments, and compliance status.
- Foster and promote a culture of risk awareness, compliance, ethical conduct and customer centricity (CARE) across Global Insurance

Qualifications - External Functional Knowledge - Proven experience in risk management, compliance, or a related field within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of distribution channels and customer management activities, sales process (manned/ digital channel), and the associated risks and regulatory requirements.
- Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape affecting insurance distribution, both globally and in key HSBC markets
Qualification & Experience - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Law, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certifications would be advantageous.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in either distribution, marketing, customer management, control or governance, risk management or compliance roles, with a significant focus on the insurance and distribution channel (digital/ manned)
