The role is part of the team under IWPB and will provide dedicated external, leadership and employee communications support for IWPB. The role is based in Hong Kong. The role holder is responsible for supporting the delivery of external and employee communications to support business needs of IWPB ASP. The role holder will also support local communication teams to deliver world-class communications. Emphasis is also on inspiring action and culture/behavioural change by connecting employees to our company purpose, business priorities and to each other through unmissable and impactful storytelling, close collaboration, opportunities for two-way dialogue with leaders and effective line manager communications.
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a
Communications Manager. In this role you will: - Develop communications strategy and execution plans for IWPB to support their growth; the role holder will also support Head of External Communications to provide communications counsel and support to IWPB CEO, relevant OpCO members and spokespeople/leaders.
- Execute a proactive media strategy across international and regional media to raise profile and strengthen thought leadership in the region
- Deliver strong and engaging content to build the profile of IWPB across external and internal audiences
- Support leadership communications and deliver complementary employee communications encompassing a variety of audiences within the HSBC Group to raise employee awareness and enhance engagement with business priorities
- Handle ongoing media enquiries in relation to IWPB and mitigate reputational risk that may arise from issues
- Work closely across IWPB Communications and Group Communications to roll out relevant campaigns
- Use insights and feedback to inform the communications planning and execution across various internal and interlocking audiences and via a range of channels
Impact on the Business/Function
- Support the delivery of robust external communications to amplify their roles in HSBC's wealth strategy
- Develop and package compelling content and messages to engage media and employees about our business priorities, aligned to our purpose, strategy and values, promote employer advocacy and help build Purpose and Value
- Generate positive media coverage through campaign, product launches and media interviews to communicate our key business strategy and progress
- Bring creativity to formats/delivery of content and activities to best engage a diverse workforce
Leadership & Teamwork
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key business stakeholders, champions, advocates and colleagues to enable effective execution of communication plans for IWPB
- Share best practices and broaden knowledge with the global network
- Anticipate and identify issues that require a communications response and marshal team resources to deliver effective communications
- Personally demonstrate a high standard of HSBC's values
- Keep up-to-date with the latest employee communications research, techniques and approaches, and network externally with peers
Functional Knowledge
- Good knowledge of the HSBC Group and its values and culture

To be successful you will need: - Solid work experience in media relations, in regional and international media.
- Experience in wealth and financial services is an advantage.
- Experience in building strong stakeholder relationships at all levels and in managing a wide range of internal stakeholders' relationships, including by matrix and virtually.
- Good command of English. Cantonese and Putonghua preferable.
- Exceptional writing ability, particularly in developing short, fresh content using simple language and for use by leaders in different formats and across multiple channels, including digital channels
- Experience of social media an advantage, including developing social media assets
- Strong event/project management skills
- Can work independently and also act as a good team player
