We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a
Responsible Investment Specialist. The Responsible Investment ('RI') team within HSBC Asset Management sits within the investments function and leads the firm's ESG and Sustainable Investing platform. The RI team works with investment teams to develop the ESG and Sustainable Investing products, develops the research and integration platform to support investment in teams with their ESG related capabilities, as well as leads on other important activities such as stewardship (engagement and voting with issuers) and other important programmatic/policy initiatives. The RI team also plays an important role in working with our clients in helping support their investment objectives along with their sustainability focus areas. The RI Specialist function within the RI team interacts with a wide range of stakeholders - namely investments, product, sales, marketing. The team plays a pivotal role in supporting the development of products/solutions, relevant frameworks to support best practice and align with regulatory labels, design and coordinating of our RI value proposition materials to engage clients, and support clients/client teams.
In this role you will: - Serve as the main port of call in Hong Kong to answer Asia and Middle East RI related client queries and support investment / sales / client services / RFP teams within inbound client related requests.
- Maintain and oversee the efficient workflow of RI client related opportunities/request, to ensure timely response times as well as strong stakeholder engagement.
- Provide key updates to RI Specialist leadership to illustrate client trends, number and nature of requests and inform development areas to meet client expectations/requirements.
- Support RI specialists with key strategic projects including governance, value proposition development, inputs into maintenance and monitoring of portfolios and other related areas to support client development/experience.
- Support key stakeholders/teams on relevant trainings, particularly as it relates to client related areas
- Update RI leadership of evolving client requirements to inform the evolution of our capabilities
To be successful you will need: - Strong interest in ESG issues with good ESG knowledge and an understanding of how ESG relates to asset management and asset owners
- Experience in similarly situated roles/client services areas with preferred experience in ESG related activities
- Experience working in Asset Management/Asset Owner preferred
- Fluency in spoken and written English, Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese, with good presentation skills
- Highly organized, experienced in planning workloads against the background of changing priorities and tight timelines
- Ability to prioritize competing demands from different stakeholders across different jurisdictions
- Strong writing, analytical skills and the ability to assess and interpret information across different tools/platforms for client use cases
- Self-motivated/starter and learner with strong interest in sustainable investing. Enjoy working as part of a team, collaborating with different stakeholders
