A leading financial institution is looking for a Head of Trading Operations with deep expertise in derivatives operations and project management.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience overseeing trading workflows, driving strategic initiatives, and leading cross-functional teams to enhance derivatives infrastructure and operational efficiency.
Your new role
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end operations of derivatives trading activities, including futures and options, ensuring seamless execution and timely resolution of operational issues.
- Ensure full compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, exchange rules, and internal operational standards.
- Respond swiftly to operational contingencies, enforce escalation protocols, and act in alignment with established governance frameworks.
- Champion operational excellence by continuously enhancing systems, workflows, policies, and control mechanisms.
- Lead project management efforts to design and implement new systems that strengthen trading, clearing, and risk management capabilities.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to support the roll out of new products and strategic initiatives.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration between business units, IT teams, and external stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of innovations.
- Build and lead a high-performing operations team, with a strong focus on talent development, employee engagement, and retention.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global regulatory trends and best practices in derivatives market operations.
- Cultivate strong relationships with regulatory authorities, industry bodies, and professional associations to support strategic alignment and compliance.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Over 15 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 8 years in senior management roles within reputable financial institutions.
- Possesses deep expertise in derivatives products-particularly futures and options-with strong familiarity with market practices, regulatory frameworks, and trading platforms. Broader exposure to a diverse range of derivative instruments is considered an asset.
- Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with a proven track record of managing high-pressure situations, multitasking effectively, and adapting to evolving priorities.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese; proficiency in Putonghua is considered an advantage.
