Position Description
Managing more than US$5 billion in assets with more than 25 years of business, CITIC CLSA Capital Partners (CLSACP) is the overseas alternative asset management arm of CITIC Securities / CITIC CLSA comprising private equity, transportation & real assets and private credit investment strategies. The Associate of Operations is responsible for supporting the manager and senior management team in the daily operating activities of the alternative investment management business, CITIC CLSA Capital Partners (CLSACP). The responsibility is including the provision of a range of support on operations, risk management, legal and compliance, regulatory, and business initiatives, and assisting in the preparation of management reports and business plans.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Management Support - Work closely with manager and management team to assist in implementation, monitoring and support of all operational aspects of the business across regions and various strategies. Providing support in preparation for a range of key internal and external interactions, such as board and management team matters including meetings, agendas, minutes, papers and governance.
- Business Support – Work closely with the respective Fund strategy teams with their fundraising efforts, which may include investors onboarding and related AML/ KYC matters, due diligence meetings, investors questionnaires, new fund launches, etc. Assisting the manager to establish the operating model of new teams.
- Regulatory and Compliance - Assisting the manager and work closely with other stakeholder as well as group in certain regulatory and compliance implementation, monitoring and regulatory reporting/ filing relating to the business platform. Liaison for AML matters with group and external parties including fund administrators.
- Governance - Ensure implementation and application of Corporate Governance Framework is in place and applied across management. Supporting the continuous development, establishment, and direct execution of operating policies to support overall policies and objectives. Work closely with manager in driving the ESG initiatives for the business, which includes review of ESG policy, annual UNPRI reporting, etc.
- Risk Management - Oversight over the risk management framework of the business and responsible for daily and periodic risks reviews where required.
- Project Management - Involved in day-to-day project management and execution responsibility for special projects and projects regarding operational efficiency enhancements.
- Stakeholder Management – Work closely with internal teams like Group Tax, FATCA-CRS, Finance, Compliance, Risk, Admin, HR, Audit on group-wide initiatives and projects.
- Service Provider Management – Manage external service providers by leading negotiations on pricing and services and performing periodic service review.
- Internal Management Reporting and Liaison - Assist in the preparation of executive level management reports, including quarterly performance reports and annual business reports in English and Chinese, as well as other periodic and ad hoc group reporting where required. Liaise with key counterparts at head office level during the preparation of management reports, and during the planning and implementation of new business initiatives to ensure alignment with parent company.
Requirements
- Postgraduate degree holder with CPA, ACCA, ACA, HKSA or legal qualifications.
- At least 4 years experience in operations, compliance, risk management in Private Funds / buy-side industry.
- Commercial Acumen with strong analytic skills with ability to assimilate complex information.
- Business Management, Compliance and/or Risk Management skills preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communications, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Ability to develop excellent relationships and manage / influence both internal / external stakeholders for the best outcome for the business across various seniority within a large organization.
- Strong Chinese and English report-writing skills with ability to clearly and concisely communicate detailed information and critical concepts.
- Ability to handle multiple projects, to work independently and a good team player.
- Fluent in written and spoken Mandarin and English. Specifically, strong Chinese and English report-writing skills with ability to clearly and concisely communicate detailed information and critical concepts.
- Proficiency in MS office (incl. Excel, Word and PowerPoint) is required.
