Principal Responsibilities
  • Lead the Risk Management Framework related initiatives and ad-hoc projects, ensuring deliverables are in line with Group and Regional strategy and timeline. Facilitate Business Stakeholders to review and update the Risk and Control Assessments, and to ensure the assessments are dynamically maintained, based on all relevant risk trigger events
  • Execute thematic reviews that focus on targeted business processes and key risks, to identify issues relating to the effectiveness of controls and to assist Control Owners to develop action plans to remediate the root cause of these issues
  • To provide assistance to Control Owners in setting up and executing appropriate continuous control monitoring methodologies
  • Undertake internal event reviews and analysis root causes and adequacy of actions to address control weaknesses and to ensure the event is escalated to the appropriate senior management. Assist in the preparation of the relevant Risk and Control related committees and risk governance forums
  • Facilitate senior management in decision making through insightful and concise recommendations from risk and control management reports
  • Connect and work with stakeholders including Risk Owners, Control Owners, Business Service Owners, Operational Risk and Risk Stewards to implement risk and control related enhancement
  • Support to conduct independent review as and when required. Coordinate Audit Reviews and conduct the related validation
  • Identify opportunities for and implement control rationalization and cost reduction initiatives

Requirements
  • University degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline
  • Relevant experience in banking, with exposure to risk control and relevant qualification
  • Sound knowledge of private banking, products and regulations, operational risk management, financial crime compliance or other related areas
  • Strong business sense, self-motivated with good communication, logical and positive thinking, interpersonal and analytical skills. Strong business acumen with good problem solving, communication and analytical skills
  • Proficient project management capabilities. Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective deliverables
  • Proficiency in English is required, with Chinese as a complimentary skill
