The Financial Services Development Council (“FSDCâ€) was established by the HKSAR Government in January 2013. The FSDC engages the financial services industry of Hong Kong and formulates proposals to promote the further development of the industry and map out the strategic direction for the development of Hong Kong as an international financial centre.
In September 2018, the FSDC was incorporated as a company limited by guarantee to better discharge its functions through research, market promotion, and human capital development with greater flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
1.To lead the research team in formulating and conducting in-depth policy research and studies in relation to economic and financial market development as well as human capital development;
2.To drive the engagement of industry bodies, market practitioners and other stakeholders through close collaboration and liaison meetings to gather views on strategies and measures on furthering the development of Hong Kongs financial services industry;
3.To build constructive dialogues with policymakers, regulators and other stakeholders to advance the priorities of the financial services industry and promote the development of the financial market and financial regulators;
4.To support the Board of Directors, Committees and working groups of the FSDC on planning and implementing research programmes and human capital development initiatives; and
5.To perform any other duties as and when required.
Requirements
1.Bachelors degree or equivalent, preferably in finance, economics or related disciplines;
2.At least 10 years post-qualification experience, at least five years of which should be at the senior management level in the financial services industry with solid experience in economic or financial market research and analysis;
3.Solid analytical skills and research project management experience, with strong understanding of the financial markets and related policy issues;
4.Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills to deal with a diverse network of stakeholders across sectors; and
5. Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; and fluency in Putonghua is an advantage.
