PowerBuilder Developer

We are seeking an experienced Senior System Analyst with a strong background in PowerBuilder development. The ideal candidate will lead system analysis, design, and development initiatives, focusing on legacy application support and modernization projects. This role requires hands-on expertise in PowerBuilder and solid understanding of enterprise systems

Ambition - Hong Kong - Full time

Salary: HKD25000 - HKD50000 per month

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using PowerBuilder and related technologies.
  • Perform system integration, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions within deadlines.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
  • Document system processes, workflows, and technical designs.
  • Support migration and modernization projects from PowerBuilder to newer platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with coding standards, security, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in PowerBuilder development.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MS SQL Server).
  • Experience in system analysis, design, and application lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with client-server architecture and legacy system support.
  • Good understanding of software development methodologies (Agile/Waterfall).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead technical discussions.
