Principal Responsibilities - Complete quality assurance reviews in accordance with the Global FC Investigations QA Instructions
- Exercise judgement to identify procedure, documentation or decisioning gap. Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of QA outcomes, escalate issues as and when identified and required.
- Analyse QA outcome and other information gathered to identify any systematic issue and emerging risk trends for reporting and knowledge sharing.
- Assist QA Manager/Team Leader in the development and maintenance of sampling and MI analytic tools
- Maintain current knowledge of FC Investigation procedures and local regulations applicable to the business, keep awareness about any policy, procedure or regulation changes.
- Assess, monitor, prepare MI and provide regular reporting to country management and/ or relevant governance committees.
- Be able to work both independently and in team-oriented contexts, sharing best practice and taking ownership for self-development.
- Help cultivate an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand, thereby contributing towards high employee engagement and motivation.
- Maintain and observe all HSBC control standards and observe the Group Compliance Policy, including adherence (as directed) with recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators.
Requirements - 12-month minimum prior experience as a Financial Crime Investigator or related discipline within financial services industry.
- Good knowledge of AML/ CTF, Sanctions and other financial crime related regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both verbal and written English and/or Cantonese / Mandarin.
- Ability to manage stakeholders in challenging circumstances and environments.
- Highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, and adept at multitasking under pressure in fast-paced environments.
- Knowledge of Financial products, services, operations, systems and working knowledge of laws and regulations in financial crime.
- Persistence and courage of their own convictions to follow up on noted quality issues and monitor agreed management actions to address.
- Certification in a professional association such as the Association of Certified Anti- Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) or International Compliance Association (ICA) is an advantage.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (e.g. Macros, Power Query)
- Computer Science Background is highly desirable
- Exposure to programming or data analytics tools such as SQL, Jupyter, Python, or SAS is a plus
