Business Function

Risk Management Group (RMG) is responsible for the development and maintenance of risk management and internal control frameworks. We provide independent review and challenge to business to ensure that appropriate balance is considered in risk/return decisions. In addition, RMG is responsible for the monitoring and reporting on key risk issues of the Bank. To manage risk effectively and deliver strong financial performance, we invest significantly in our people and infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Review collection status and monitor the recovery amount from cases assigned to debt collection agency
  • Monitor the monthly debt recovery performance of debt collection agencies
  • Verify monthly commission payable to debt collection agency
  • Conduct regular onsite audit visit on debt collection agency and compile audit report
  • Ensure debt collection agency collection actions are complying with the Bank's and regulatory requirements
  • Handle inquiries & complaints raised by customer or regulatory bodies in relation to debt collection agency
  • Conduct service level meeting and management review meeting with debt collection agency
  • Conduct regular review and streamline process flows for litigation and agency management
  • Handle borrowers / mortgagors / guarantors' enquiry related to the mortgaged property and /or the problem loan.
  • Follow up and coordinate with solicitor firms on assigned cases
  • Ensure correct billing from solicitor firms and arrange reimbursement of all sort of expenses incurred (including management fee, rates & rents, etc).
  • Handle the disposal of repossessed property
Requirements
  • University graduate or equivalent
  • At least 7 years or above experience on consumer banking
  • Good knowledge in managing collection agency & legal proceedings
  • Understand the guidelines / regulations laid down in the Code of Banking Practice, Code of Practice on Consumer Credit Data and HKMA Supervisory Manual
  • Good communication and complaint handling skills to deal with different parties including debt collection agency, solicitor firms or customer
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools
