An exciting opportunity to shape the compliance framework for a leading digital payments and financial infrastructure provider. This role reports directly to the APAC Chief Compliance Officer and focuses on fostering compliant, strategic partnerships across the region.
About the Role:
This is a high-impact, compliance-centric leadership position responsible for developing and executing the partnership compliance program to ensure seamless, regulatory-aligned collaboration with external fintech, corporate clients, and service providers. You will be instrumental in establishing a robust compliance infrastructure to support the firms expansion into embedded finance, Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS), and digital assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, implement, and maintain a comprehensive partnership compliance program aligned with regional and international regulations.
- Develop tailored compliance frameworks for partner programs, including onboarding, KYB/KYC, AML, sanctions screening, and transaction monitoring.
- Collaborate closely with business units, product teams, and legal to embed compliance requirements into partnership agreements and operational workflows.
- Conduct risk assessments and manage ongoing monitoring to address compliance risks related to embedded finance, BaaS, digital assets, and cross-border payments.
- Oversee regulatory licensing, registration processes, and liaise with regulators as needed.
- Provide training and guidance to internal teams and partners on compliance standards and best practices.
- Monitor regulatory developments across APAC and other key regions, adjusting policies and procedures accordingly.
- Support the expansion of the firm's infrastructure and embedded finance offerings by ensuring all partner integrations are compliant and risk-managed.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience in establishing compliance programs for fintech, digital assets, or financial institutions, ideally within embedded finance or BaaS ecosystems.
- Strong understanding of compliance frameworks pertinent to embedded finance, partner programs, and core banking infrastructure.
- Familiarity with regional regulations in APAC, including AML, KYC, sanctions, and licensing requirements.
- Prior experience managing partnerships and conducting comprehensive risk assessments.
- Strategic thinker with excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, lead initiatives, and influence cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior involvement in regulatory licensing applications related to payments, digital assets, or financial services.
- Experience with regulatory reporting, audit support, and liaising with governmental authorities.
- Knowledge of API-based banking infrastructure, compliance rails, and related RegTech solutions.
