We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Vice President, Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB).

In this role you will:
  • Assist and provide support for senior bankers in preparing analytical and transaction materials, interfacing with clients as required
  • Interact with clients and various levels of management; act as an integral part of the engagement team and fully involve self in the business development and/or execution of 'event-driven' transactions
  • Build the CIB franchise value/reputation in the market place
  • Contribute to the achievement against targets for revenue generation, product alignment, customer satisfaction, cost management etc.

Customers / Stakeholders
  • Work with Global Account Owners/Managers and senior coverage bankers to build the 'Trusted Advisor' relationship with clients.

Leadership & Teamwork
  • Collaborate with all colleagues to achieve the overall goal of CIB and the coverage model
  • Project manage 'event-driven' transactions, guiding and developing juniors as appropriate
  • Participate in the management, training and assessment of junior staff
  • Effective use of HSBC CIB platforms to share and store information and knowledge with other colleagues
  • As required, act as a fungible resource for the wider Strategic Transaction Group by project managing transactions outside sector and/or region.

Operational Effectiveness & Control
  • Effectively manage information risk
  • Effectively manage money laundering, counter terrorist financing, fraud and reputational risk
  • Act with HSBC's best interests in mind - act with integrity in all dealings and puts HSBC's reputations first

To be succesful you will need:
  • A generalist Investment Banking/Corporate Finance background
  • Ability to develop a strategic dialogue with the client on a multi-dimensional basis.
  • Experience of financial modelling, valuation, and execution
  • Experience of managing 'event-driven' transactions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Exceptional academic credentials
  • Good knowledge of HSBC Group and products, and a strong network of contacts across different business areas
