Principal Responsibilities
  • Undertake analysis to support the development and track execution of HK Pillar Strategy
    • Develop key insights for HK Pillar Strategy
    • Identifying key issues / opportunities and using HSBC and external sources to provide actionable recommendations for the RBW and CMB across the HK Pillar
  • Effectively communicate (both written and oral) analyses across internal stakeholders - within HK Pillar Strategy, across strategy colleagues in the bank and across other functions
  • Participation in strategic projects or Group-wide initiatives assessing structural long term opportunities for HSBC leveraging HK Pillar capabilities
  • Provide support to Engagement Managers and Directors, as required on strategic reviews and to improve quality of strategic planning, management information (MI), accountability and governance
  • Ensure proper and timely consideration of market, industry and competitor analysis to support planning and performance management activities
  • Ensures team's compliance with mandatory / necessary / business critical initiatives and requirements
  • Deliver fair outcomes for our stakeholders (customers, shareholders etc.) and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets
  • Proactively contributes to effective teamwork within HK Pillar Strategy
  • Collaborates with other teams to ensure that analysis / data is effectively shared and managed
  • Facilitates on-boarding of new members in the team

Requirements
  • Strong problem solving skills and well developed analytical skills
  • Industry knowledge across in Hong Kong Pillar Businesses (EG Retail, Wealth Management, Asset Management and Insurance, GPS, GTS, Business Banking)
  • Proven track record of executing projects under tight timeline
  • Knowledge of using external sources such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ etc. helpful but not necessary
  • Ability to work independently and able to work in a small team with a flat structure to work collaboratively in a team environment
