SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

To maintain day-to-day service delivery including responsibility for BAU settlement and resolving issue for cash / stock break.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

First point of contact for external client and Equity Desk for settlement advice, enquiries, resolving of discrepancies and transactional error during Asia time zone.

Ensure operations internal controls and procedures are in place and followed. Adherence to policies including escalation and compliance requirements.

ACTIVITIES
  • Ensure accurate and timely trade settlement in Asia Pacific equity markets (Total: 14 markets excluding Japan and India). Follow up with clients, middle office and custodian to avoid any settlement delay and raise stock borrow to avoid buy-in on S.
  • Send unmatched email on S-1, update narrative on any fails in Gloss.
  • Monitor the excess borrow for the principal desk in Asia.
  • Handle SBL settlement, conversion and ETF creation /redemption for Asia market
  • Responsible for FX booking and prepare regular payment in related to settlement activity
  • Perform reconciliations to ensure firm books and record are matched with external broker and custodian
  • Support Equity Capital Markets on corporate deals and work closely with issuers and investors to ensure market delivery.
  • Ensure that all control activities are conducted in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Comply with applicable Money Laundering Prevention Procedures and, in particular, report any suspicious activity to the Unit Money Laundering Prevention Officer and Line Manager.
  • Reconcile and perform stamp duty calculation on daily basis.
  • Handle SWIFT message with custodian to facilitate smooth settlement processes.
