Main purpose of the role: Simmons Adaptive is currently searching for a commonwealth qualified lawyer to join our client on a 5 to 6 month assignment starting asap. The role will focus on all aspects of trade finance for the transactional banking team.
Key duties include: - Provide legal advice on a wide range of trade finance products and transactions, including letters of credit, guarantees, and supply chain finance, across Singapore and Hong Kong.
- Draft, review, and negotiate trade finance documentation to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements in both jurisdictions.
- Advise on regulatory and compliance matters, including MAS and HKMA regulations, AML, and sanctions.
- Support dispute resolution and enforcement actions related to trade finance transactions in Singapore and Hong Kong.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to manage legal risks and support business initiatives regionally.
Person specification: - A commonwealth qualified lawyer with relevant Transactional banking experience gained from private practice and financial institutions.
- You have excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- You have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization.
- You are based in Singapore or Hong Kong.
